It's not just that, but also losing all the gold cookies. I'm pretty much paranoid to click a single red cookie, because the outcome is not very stable. I'd rather enjoy the guaranteed benefits of Golden Cookies, not to mention someone did the math (over here: http://en.reddit.com/r/CookieClicker/com..._good_red/ ) that after ~350m CpS, which is really easy to get, Golden Cookies overtake Red Cookies in terms of benefits.
