I used about 30 a year on pets and clothes back then and there was no real reason for me to do more than that.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but gachapon just released really quirky items for at least the first year, then they added PAC(and the like), which wasn't a "necessary" piece of equipment. I'd rather have the gacha system still in place over cubes. Stormcasters/facestompers were like 2007 in combination with ITCG, I'm not sure if you initially had to gacha for the forging pieces.
