Animes to watch?

Since this kind of turned into the Oreimo thread, I just finished all of the anime and wanted to ask if the light novel is worth a read or if the ending is any different?

Read the light novel. Do it. All 12 volumes and extra content can be found translated at Baka-Tsuki. The light novel goes much more into depth than the anime. It does have characters not in the anime and explains in further detail the backstories and feelings of all the characters. Volumes 9 and 11 are mostly left out of the anime unfortunately. If they had paced it and included volume 9 and 11 they could have easily made 3 seasons instead of 2.5 (since all the OVAs were like half a season). There is a deeper emotional connection between characters too in the light novel. The ending is mostly the same, but the context is different. You know that hotel room they stayed in on Christmas? Trains don't run late at night. It had one bed.

You also have to realize that the author was restricted by his publishers and society.
