Mastery books were an awful idea but an even worse idea was changing every skill book drop into a mastery book. It went from grinding on one type of monster to get a certain book to grinding on any monster that has like a 0.000000000000000001% chance of dropping a completely randomized mastery book. I seriously don't get how they thought this was better.
