My point isn't that people spending thousands of dollars on this game is killing it. MapleStory did just fine without all its pay-to-win crap, and more players spent money then. There was also nothing stopping anyone from dropping thousands of dollars on the game back then anyway.
The point I have been trying to make is Nexon is not wisely monetizing the game. There's been a lot of missed and wasted opportunities (in the form of selling aesthetic enhancements) because they only know cubes.
