If you're looking for just a bit of odd but good humor:

 Seto no Hanayome

Description:

Teenage boy rescues mermaid during summer break. Mermaid law states that one of the two must be killed if a human discovers a mermaid. Mermaid will not allow boy to be killed so the family decides that they should marry to get around law. Oh yeah, mermaid's family is a mafia. Mafia dad constantly wants to kill new son-in-law.

Great and quirky slice of life. Lots of comedy. Good amount of action... almost all of which is comedic.

Bit more action... but all lighthearted. Two seasons. Available for free on crunchyroll (with ads bypassable via ad-block plus).

 dog days

Description:

Boy is transported from Japan to the world of Flonyard to help the dog-people (see picture) fight a war against the cat-people (infer based on dog-person in picture). The war is not what it seems(?) in a funny way. Watch at least until the second episode to understand what that means.
