In my case, I can't use the new resolution for two reasons. One, my monitor doesn't go past 1280x1024. Two, I need windowed mode myself in order to pay attention to stuff when I stream.

Until I get a better monitor, I'm sticking with 1024x768.

I'll be using various resolutions for various machines. Really, the purpose of the widescreen resolution is to allow widescreen users to play full screen mode without distorting the image when it stretches. this is particularly useful is you are not using a DVI monitor connection. (DVI connections can use scaling effects to keep the aspect ratio correct on fullscreen mode. Analog connections cannot do this.)
