You can spend 10 grand on a Corolla to have it tricked out and reach its full potential, or you can spend 10 grand on the Ferrari where at the base it is already better than the fully tricked out Corolla and then spend another 10 grand to have the Ferrari reach its full potential.
You shouldn't expect a Corolla to outdo a Ferrari anytime, you shouldn't have bought the Corolla in the first place if all you wanted was speed and power.
You want to drive a Corolla, that's cool, that's fine, maybe you enjoy driving a Corolla over a Ferrari, completely your business. However you should never expect your Corolla to do better than a Ferrari, except maybe on MPG, no matter how much you spend on it, that isn't how the world works, that isn't even how video games work.
