Woo what a weekend. Driving to DC is probably the second worse thing I've ever had to do. NY still tops it. We had this primo spot at this hotel, which I would recommend to anyone going to DC, the E`nfant. The location is just amazing. We were 10 minutes away from every Smithsonian, from a fresh market fish place, and this great restaurant " The Ebbit grill", may have an "old" somewhere in there but I can't remember. The place had a lottttt of senators in there, really high standing place, but we got there during this festival they have. It was pretty much a buffet of the freshest seafood (all you can eat oysters(the raspberry ones are AMAZING) shrimp, clams and crab cakes) with like the top 20 wines in the area all for like $45, soo worth it.
Unfortunately the hotel pool was closed and we had a rocky start at the beginning, by the end of it though it was the best possible circumstances. I decided to keep the clover as it's significance wasn't as much as these sea shell crafts we found. We took the metro to "old king street" which is essentially a 20 minute long road of nothing but small mom and pops shop, there was a childrens bookstore that had these seashell kits these kids would make. They were so goddam adorable and we each got the closest one to each other. Mine being an old turtle with a fishing hat...LOL. All and all it was a fantastic trip and I'm glad I was able to be a good host. It was my first time alone in DC, I wing'd it and came out alive.
Oh also the gardens were gorgeous, although they nearly killed me because of allergies lol. And I died at the minerals, I wanted to buy all of them ;-;.
