I never really found Hard Mode that entertaining. It was a permanent change that made the game far less enjoyable for me, and you couldn't even play online without people rushing to activate it immediately, which made online play even less entertaining than it already could be because if you weren't ready for it you basically couldn't do anything at all ever again on that server without handouts.
Happy that the entire update isn't just HM and later changes.
If you think a Copper Pickaxe is too slow, wait until you get Drills.

Been digging for what seems like forever in search of gold to craft a gold pickaxe with. Finally got one. The copper one is way too slow.
