No matter your job as long as you release asap your attacks ARE free. If it takes too much because you're too weak or something you can use your -HP Attacks instead of your -%HP attacks. Whereas diabolic recovery should solve all your problems.
Life sap is based on hits you TAKE not hits you DEAL. (pretty sure)
