Sorry to disappoint anyone, but I think Nexon sort of dismissed the UI changes despite all the feedback we gave (or at least that's how I took it as). This was from Waltzing a few weeks ago.

The development team making the UI changes is going to keep the old bottom UI bar for now (the one currently in the game), but they said they'd take into consideration the feedback you gave if they look into changing it.
