It took him all of 30minutes of actually participating to be noticed by several people. That's hardly almost getting away with it.

It is actually pretty commendable that it took them a whole 30 mins to discover him, considering the whole continent was watching the event. I'm pretty sure Meredy would do just fine running common jobs.
