What...? Mir has moving hitboxes. Everything clearly comes from him. How does evan as a character not work?
Actually there's a huge difference. Switching mode is a terrible system for "real time" combat. Xenon's mode changing changes the skills utility between multiple skills. Alpha and beta switching is an entirely different skill set at the push of a 3 sec cooldown button.

Couple with max's description, "Using both characters together will give you access to strong combination skills! You will be able to link together their skills in order to be more powerful!"
the impression I get is that for players who wishes to, they can mash alpha/beta skills independently.
Yes nexon did factor in the point of origin of spells, but it just boils down to being another normal magician am I right? That is why I said evan was more of a marketing gimmick because the only thing unique was that the point of origin is a few pixel infront of your character instead of where your character is standing. It doesn't really serve to do anything. Kanna and her fox imo is a better demonstration of how evan and mir should be.
As for xenon, I am just commenting on how it works fundamentally. Both share the same idea of "press a button and have access to some other skills instead of the ones you have currently" In fact if nexon pair-up zero attacking skills, it would save players alot of keyboard spaces. ie zero only has 2set instead of 3 compared to xenon. So hitting the "tag-swtich" button means instant switch(rather then having to input an additional directional button in xenon case due to 3set)
Just for example sake. If moon strike-shadow strike is paired up and you assign keyslot C for it and tag to RCtrl, and those 2 skills can be chain indefinitely, then a player could simply hit C,RCtrl,C,RCtrl,C,RCtrl,C as opposed to hitting C,RCtrl,V,RCtrl,C,RCtrl,V
Right now lots of video shows players sticking to one character seems to suggest that skills assignment to keyboard is a problem for zero players, not withstanding how sticking to either alpha or beta is better dps wise too.

It would merely be Luminous 2.0, with a character sprite that switched from male to female instead of a hovering orb and with twice the skills, a lot cloned within its own jobs.
Sadly players are motivated by damage and damage only, especially during boss run. There is no way to perfectly balance unless it is fully identical. So in the end players will always figure out what is the best distribution when given a choice, with or without constraints.
I mean just take a look at how aran/DS adapt their boss playstyle as nexon changes how their resource points are being used. If tempest dmg is better then saving your combo count, aran will just spam it. If combo count give better dps, then tempest is hardly being used.
In the end, zero will end up being played like WHY old i/l will throw in GC in between CL spam. Switch in is only necessary when it increases your dps.
