He didn't miss out on anything. 128 with +6 is 158, 128 with +10 is 178. Either way, he only gets +4 atk per star (since both are between 150 and 199 atk, or is it 151 and 200, I don't remember), which would bring him to either 178 or 198 with a 5 star, and neither of those passes an attack increase threshold for enhances at any point, either.
You don't have to wait to enhance something as long as you're aware of the possible results. If you'll end up the same either way, like if at no point during scrolling and enhancing do you pass some multiple of 50 (like, if you just passed 150 atk and you only have like 3 slots left, it's not going kill you to use a 5 star, because even if you finished scrolling, none of those 5 stars will be beyond 200 atk and get 5 atk rather than 4 atk), then it doesn't really matter if you enhance then or when you finish scrolling.
