Let's say you're training on mobs that give 10 exp. There's a 2x event, so you decided to bring along HS and buy a 2x card. You also have Elven Blessing Level 1.
Prior to this update, all of the multipliers would multiply together, so the exp would be:
10 * 2 * 2 * 1.5 * 1.1= 66
and will be displayed as:
exp from mob blah blah blah (+60)
exp from elven blessing blah blah blah (+6)
Now, the multipliers are applied SEPARATELY to the base, making it function as if it was additive. The exp:
10 + 10 (from server 2x) + 10 (from 2x card) + 5 (from HS) + 1 (from Elven Blessing) = 36.
and will each be displayed on a separate line.
Those who use one multiplier or (gasp) no multipliers aren't really affected -raises hand-; however, this mechanic severely diminished stacking exp multipliers. Having a 2x card during a 2x event is now 3x instead of 4x, which means Nexon is losing revenue. HS is barely beneficial to a party. But hey, there's nothing we can do.
