Kyuu Wrote:My mistake, 경계 means "boundary" or "border" as you said (Not 'divide' as I was thinking at the time), but there is a difference between "One who stands on the border" and "Border Patrol."
Clearly, one is a lot less serious than the other - and childish as well. I'm not sure what meaning KMS development team was going for with "경계에 서있는 자" (Someone who pushes the border to the extreme?) but I am 100% sure they were not going for the police who make sure illegal immigrants do not enter the country. I just wish that American localization team put a little bit more thought into making a medal called "Border Patrol." I'm all for them trying to have humor in the game, as Maple Story is at the core a 'social game' but there is a time and place, as well as type of humor to put in content.
You do have a point with the renaming of the skill/weapon, but that was just a minor comment - I just think that "Beam Dancing" sounds terribly silly, whereas "Blade Dance(ing)" is already a skill name used in multiple games, almost expected of a skill that looks like Xenon's.
tldr; why the pineapple would you name a medal "Border Patrol?"
Thank you for the input though, Spadow. It's great that you've returned to your blog ^^
indeed, one who stands at the border makes me think of either suicidal tendencies, or falling to the dark side, border patrol... makes me think of mexico.
