KMST 1.2.478 - Warrior and Mage Skill Changes
After comparing and contrasting the mages in Max's Blog my brother's verdict is in:
"I/L got the short end of the stick. It's as if someone thought that F/P still were in some sort of need of buff and were inferior. While the numbers probably don't show a nerf, it sure feels like one.

25% Damage v. 25% Critical Rate? No contest. Especially if different ice attacks are necessary to keep the X5 counter up. Think about it, am I really going to have to use Ice Strike or Cold Beam or any of those lesser skills in my attack sequence? If it contributed DoT or 5% Damage, I might consider it, 5% Critical Rate? Nope.

Ignite v. Chilling Step? At best, a wash at worse another loss.

Slime Virus v. Thunder Storm? I can't answer this without knowing the speed of either, but there's definitely a lean towards Thunder Storm.

Mana Burn v. Frozen Break? Do bosses even have MP anymore? Keeping MP Eater was a weird move, especially keeping it over Seal. I guess Frozen Break wins, 5% Ignore M. DEF though, really?

Elemental Adapting (F/P) v. Elemental Adapting (I/L)? I suspect 80% regeneration of the shield is more useful than 15 seconds of status resist, how many times might one be inflicted in that 15 seconds?

Paralyze v. Chain Lighting? What happened here? I/L obviously too stronk and fast. Nerf pl0x.

Flame Haze v. Frozen Orb + Freezing Breath? One-on-two, easy victory! Nope. If what you said JoeTang said is true (1 attack per 1.8 seconds and slow cast) + purely support (I can't attack), then this is the most lopsided challenge yet. I bet that debuff effect isn't even 15% PDR/30% MDR per second, they brought back the old defense system in jest just to spite me. Of course if I can help knock PDR to 0%, find me a guild or a party please, let's be support! Let's get to that Flame Haze though, did they just give F/P GC? No friend, they just gave F/P a stronger version and it has DoT! That and F/P still have ME, Tongue.

[He forgets to mention that losing GC in an attack sequence also might cost the PDR that it had inherent in it. I suspect GC might also get a nerf, it's a pretty powerful 3rd Job Skill, I think.]

Bonus Round!
Ifrit v. Elquines? I think they tossed the Future Perion kawaii all over these guys. So they both lose, but why is Elquines made of fire, an apparently hotter fire than Ifrit, who knows? I guess he doubly loses since he's about to melt.

Back to the last sentence of the first paragraph. I'm not sure if there is even a buff in there, 25% Critical Rate, 20% Status Resist and I bet that even if you collected all the damage from the new skills together, they barely edge out CL + GC as it is currently constituted. Find me or link me to an updated Magician damage table when it comes up, I want to see if I'm right, I'll be farming."
