Of course, if they were more competent and we didn't see random bans such as the Hak bans a while back, I would suggest a hardware ban.
While I see what you're saying, theres still lots of advertisers and gold farmers on WoW, they do an area check and wisper every person in the area, if you play WoW youll get lots of adds/random party invites.
Theres also gold farmers in WoW, but they're real people and they dont hack, so your logic doesnt really apply.
