Pokémon X and Pokémon Y

That picture is absolutely terrifying.

The whole "mounting" Pokemon things seems kinda strange to me, to be honest. Especially since you would apparently only be able to mount certain Pokemon and only in certain places. Sounds like some sort of gimmick to replace the lack of having to use HMs to progress through the region now'a'days. I mean, it could be cool if done correctly, and I, for one, love seeing the actual Pokemon out in the game's world with their own sprites (I loved how in Heart Gold and Soul Silver that you could have practically any Pokemon following you around, it was just neat), but hopefully it doesn't end up being forced making you REQUIRED to carry around, for example, the Gogoat with you everywhere just in case you needed to mount it to progress.

Maybe it's just for convenience, like since bikes can't travel through super tall grass, you can ride a Gogoat instead for roughly the same speed but with the ability to travel through very tall grass?

Of course, they could bring back stunt riding (Gen III's Acro Bike) to access certain otherwise inaccessible areas, just so people won't just completely ditch bikes in favour of Gogoats.
