Wow you are really making it hard for me to refrain from entering this discussion. Labeling all Latinos together as "gun/drug smugglers" is pretty down right retarded. Btw, idk how you define terrorism, but I do not necessarily see the Latin cartels as terrorists, at least not in the context of U.S. affairs. Also, I can not recall any major Latino terrorist operations in the United States whereas I can think of several that have been committed by Islamic extremists.

This also isn't true. Clearly some stereotypes have been created from some sort of racist idea or another and there may be some "truth" to those, but some are just down right ridiculous and stupid.

I can understand a lot of the arguments in this thread. That student was clearly profiled and investigated because of his ethnicity, but I do not really blame the FBI for this considering what just happened in Boston. Seems to me that they did their job professionally and took steps to properly investigate the reports. While I find the reasoning behind reporting this kid walking down the street with a pressure cooker rather racist, I can see how it could also fall into that "rather safe than sorry" category. Obviously this is a pretty complicated situation.
