You guys astound me with your whining. Can anyone honestly say they didn't see either a rollback or mass hellban on the way? How big was the last hellban (if I remember correctly, the ONLY hellban) that came around? There is absolutely nothing unexpected about this outcome, save for maybe the surprised all-day 2x exp compensation.
You'd think that after 6 years of relentless screw-ups, Nexon can't do anything to faze people anymore.
If you decided to play the game knowing that either of these were coming, especially if that playing involves any trading of any kind with anyone, you have only yourself to blame for your loss. Personally? I would have them roll everything back and be done with it. Still, I would agree that hellbanning is a better "solution" in the sense that it isn't really a solution, they're buying time to figure out how exactly to go about this, which arguably is more responsible.
