It's not surprising or particularly worrying.
They hit the "off" switch as soon as they heard about the exploit.
Then they sat down to try and figure out how it was done (and how to block it), and also how much damage was done (and how to undo it). Until they've figured both those things out, they can't guess how long it will take, so the only update they can give is "we're still working on it" - which goes without saying.
