That's why I say I hope people aren't going to focus on the game since games alone don't lead to death. The issue here is that this kid isn't equipped to deal with a rifle and he got one for a present anyway, even if he had acted violently a person's still more likely to survive nearly any other kind of wound than a gunshot since he wasn't deliberately trying to kill his mother.
It wouldn't even be an issue if a kid had access to a gun and played violent video games if they were mentally stable and knew how to differentiate reality from fantasy but this kid clearly wasn't. I just wonder if he got proper testing before he got his gun but this alone shows a good reason why kids should not have guns of their own since you don't know what's going to happen.
