But yes, Ragnarok Online 2 is a pretty major reason why I wouldn't support a 3D Maple Story 2 as the feeling isn't the same at all even though I played very little of both Ragnarok Online 1 and 2. On the other hand I've also heard that RO 2 was mostly developed by a different team so I don't think a fair comparison could be made in my perspective, I pretty much just like Maple's cutesy graphics too much.
