No, PM/VMs are also for when two people are having a discussion which is off topic in the thread it's in, and/or practically nobody else is participating in or following (but has to keep opening the thread when it shows up as "new", in the hope something really new has come up).
In other words: get a room, you two. Same warning from the other thread applies here, too.
