All of the season's lesser shows came in strong enough for their second episodes. Devil Summoner doesn't feel like I'm watching someone play a videogame in the way Persona 4 did. RDG upped the ante and seems like it'll strike a good mix of supernatural with romance. Hataraku was even funnier. Karneval... Well, it didn't get worse. As one of the ANN reviewers described episode 1, "It's as if a creator sat down and said, "Hey, I have a great idea for some characters," and then forgot what these characters are supposed to be about, or what they want to achieve. So instead they just get into awesome butt-kicking fights and go places." None of the characters are likable as of yet and the plot is still non-existent but it is awful pretty and action-packed enough to keep my attention through an episode. (But seriously, the Circus Defense organization puts on actual circuses for whatever town they just cleaned up in? Stupid. Yet oddly logical.)

From what I understand in episode 1, we have Space Nazis in space (who apparently speak German) terrorizing people with their large military. The boy in this show goes pilot Valvrave the Liberator to liberate the space jews (homage to glorious America? IDK), during which he makes a contract with some CC-like girl who grants him Vampire/Werewolf-Geass like powers. In the OP we also learn theres a green/blue/yellow/purple Valvrave. Enjoy.
