Pretty sure people talking about "additional options" already being in the game for the ESS Square are just natural variation in the item. We don't have AO yet.

Yes, the number of options you can get seems to depend on item level too. As for AO proper I don't know if the ESS Square has those but Hilla starts dropping recipes to craft the Stone of Eternal Life when Unlimited comes.
