My more pressing problem is that I convinced my cousin to start playing as a mystic, so I'm planning on leveling with him on a berserker, meaning I need to pick a race sooner than intended. I'm really in favor of a male human mostly because I want plate that actually looks like plate and because I don't really care for the redundancy of having 2 plate wearing Elins and nothing else on my account. If humans really aren't a terrible pick for berserkers, a little bit of reassurance there would be enough to put me over the edge of picking them purely for aesthetic purposes.
Your PC has higher specs than mine, and I'm now able to run at ~50-60fps average. I'll just say now that human is almost never a good choice, they have the worst hitboxes and are awkward as pineapple with skill anis; give me about 20 minutes and I'll get you a list of changes you can make at a basic level that will absurdly increase your FPS.
First off, for your PC, you will want to IGNORE the people saying to disable bSMOOTHFRAMERATE; for high end PCs, it actually helps.

Add that last line, or the whole thing if the segment does not exist, some people don't have it but most do. What that does is forces the game to use all of your cores. I have 4 cores so I use a 4; if you have more, replace the 4 with the number of cores you have, I don't know what that i7 has in it. That simple change increased my FPS the most by far.
Another important thing that most people forget to do (which, if you don't do, wastes all of your effort) is make that entire config folder read only, or else every little patch we get will overwrite all the changes you make. Don't read only your entire TERA folder though, obviously; that will probably corrupt it all when a patch happens since it can't do pomegranate to existing files, and the new files will confuse the .exe.
For your GPU settings, use box supersampling without morphological filtering, morpho cuts your FPS in half and makes everything look like pomegranate, 4x anisotropic seems to be the best, it actually looks better than 8x to me. If you have an option for surface format optimization, I prefer that turned off, not much noticeable change with a bit of an FPS drop when on. I turned vsync off, but I never have issues with tearing; if you do, keep that on. If you know how to use FXAA (I don't, I have an AMD card), I've heard that helps a lot for both performance and speed, for nvidia cards.
