Yesterdays episode (which I only managed to watch today) was shockingly bad. Matt Smith was mediocre in this episode, with his voice ranging from hard to hear mumbling to hard to hear shouting. Jenna-Louise Coleman was probably the saving grace of this episode, and the only part of the episode which actually kept my interest was Clara's backstory (which was really well done in my opinion, all the feels), the TARDIS not liking her (what is she?) and the ending with the leaf, which actually choked me up a little bit because of the way she delivered the speech.
It's kind of weird having a companion that the TARDIS rejects, I can see this being a problem later on, especially since I think we have an episode that goes deeper into the Tardis later in the series.
Also, the Vigil were creepy as pineapple. those voices and the way they all tilted their heads at the same time. brrr. Grandfather was creepy too, I wish he had been the villain of the episode and not the big.. evil star thing.
