to clarify things on the build in question now:
above already mentioned processor to motherboard. overclocking intel chipos will be denoted with a k at the end of their name.
as for build 2, the i7-3820 is a sandy bridge-e processor(LGA 2011). it requires a X79 motherboard and will not work with a Z77 motherboard(for LGA 1155)
