Granted that they made the video for charity... but could they have used an original song or one of their own and not mercilessly ruin 2 perfectly good songs?

I thought all their "own songs" copied other songs in some way. At least the tune in "What makes you beautiful" sounds almost exactly like "Summer Nights" from Grease.
