That sounds exactly like the Spirit Weapon buffs from JMS. The only thing that sounds different are the success rates. 100% success rates are broken... In JMS, it's a 10% chance to pass the scroll, then a 25% chance to pass the boss orb. If the boss orb fails, your item kaplodes.
