Pokémon X and Pokémon Y

Yeah, the names and their types are the only things that set them apart. I wonder why they ended up doing it this way?

It wouldn't have been THAT silly for Venonat to evolve into Butterfree. Remoraid evolves into Octillery after all. (though I suppose it evolves from a gun into a cannon, but that's not the point)
Same with the Cubone/Marowak/Kangaskhan/Missingno thing. As much as I love Generation 1, it seems horribly outdated and nonsensical now that the idea of split evolutions and gender differences exist (Nidoran). It's too late for them to really revamp the Gen 1 pokemon though without alienating those of us that grew up on them.

You should youtube "Pokemon myths". Mew=ditto, haunter licking misty=death to misty, which is why she left the show, uh, voltorb self destructs and becomes haunter, when cloyster dies he becomes ghastly, clefable is the light version of gengar, those are some off the top of my head.
