I just find it difficult to believe that the military as a whole would side against the rest of the government. Who would they revolt against? Only the federal government? The entire congress? The federal, state, and local governments? The executive branch? I could understand that many members of the military would revolt if this happened, but surely there would be those who are still loyal to the government, yes? Wouldn't they be in control of most of the weapons?

It's all speculation but my personal opinion is that congress/white house would be the targets and that majority of the necessary workforce will leave, which will cause the collapse, not killing everyone in sight.
