I definitely have to agree with this.
I've played both LaTale and WonderKing, and both lack polish, in my opinion. At least the base game of MapleStory is polished, in a mechanics aspect. It doesn't feel jittery or unresponsive, but I always felt that with both LaTale and WonderKing. MapleStory might have all kinds of problems, but the base mechanics are solid and well done. It's one of the reasons I originally liked the game, it was smooth, easy to play, and it didn't piss you off with bad control.
Plus, the art style and music are far superior to those two games too. LaTale and WonderKing to me just don't feel, look, or play like a good game. That's my personal opinion, and I have to imagine others agree with me when neither are very popular.
It's a shame MapleStory is screwed up on so many other levels.
