I would still side more with the parents anyway given that I do not believe abortion is an irresponsible thing to do if it's for good reasons and the parents did display emotion: They were distressed that their decision could bring about a kid who would have severe health problems that for all we know are even worse than what their kids have now.
I'd go through the surrogate mum's blog but it's rather late and I don't think her stance there would lend anything to my general commentary.
