In any case, the people reviewing the OP Wikia seem to also think the evidence points towards Monet being dead. I guess we'll just have to see if Oda's planned anything for her. Doflamingo himself has killed off Bellamy without so much as a flashback, though.

I thought the same thing. Crushing the fruit would be very like him, I agree! What I really wonder is what might actually end the fruit's lineage, since fruits are reborn after the user is killed. I'm very excited that Oda is delving more into the Devil Fruit lore now.
