Since Ryuzaki has pretty much covered the main stuff, here's some random craps I can offer:
-Werefoxes (WF), half human half foxes, utilize pets to help them train quicker. Pets, are obtained via taming monsters. This class is extremely self efficient in the sense that they don't need much help from others or pots in order to train. This class is one of the most deadliest if the person playing it knows how to play it well enough. One of their pet skills, Ripping bite, causes a consistant drain on your hp that isn't hindered by pvp's 70% damage reduction. These guys are almost MADE to kill. They are also female-only.
-Elven Priests (EP), the healing class, are much more balanced. They're really just what they are: a support class. It's a pain leveling them solo at first until you get the hang of their skills. They level extremely fast if they're paired with a AOE-able class, WRs -- human warriors.
-Mages(MG): are ridiculously strong in terms of firepower as long as you didnt go for some wierdass build. Downside: they're glass tanks. Fragile, but super good firepower. Downsides: from what I hear, these guys have a lot stacked against them (almost any stat-enhanced monsters are a pain in their %$#@!) as well which means this class is meant to be played tactfully. In this game, pots can only do so much. Most are not instant, and all have a cooldown. Despite the fragility, MGs are considered a damage dealing class in both bossing and pvp.
-Elven Archers (EA): these guys are almost ridiculously broke in terms of pvp as well. I must've spent countless hours trying to break a certain veteran's combo. Yes, I'm a noob, but nobody else who's played the game longer seemed to be able to give me ideas on how to kill one of these guys. So far, I've come to be a fraction of a second's difference close to killing them (guess their cast-time must've been shorter). In game, they're reputed to be the dominant pvp class...just like how hermits are the best one on one dmg dealers. In bossing, EAs are considered a damage dealing class, in a AOE party, they are the AOE'ers.
-Werebeasts (WB): this is the male version of the beast class. These guys are considered tanks -- the ones who take the abuse from the monster while the EP heals and everyone else deals damage since they've got a buttload of hp. They're a bit on the weak side in terms of damage though. Their beast form is that of a white tiger. I duno about their AOE skills. Don't think they do much of AOEing though.
-Human Warriors (WR): sometimes these guys are tanks and sometimes they're damage dealer (depends on if they can take it or not). Their hp is ranked second to WBs, a drastic gap between the amount of hp these two have, but still more than other classes. They're also a heavy armor class -- so the def helps when they tank. As said before, they can AOE very well.
Class facts aside..here's some gaming content stuffs:
-Armors break depending on how much abuse you've taken and/or how long you've trained. That said, WRs tend to </3 at armor repair bills since their equipment takes much of the abuse if they're training in a AOE party, where, they're constantly taking damage from large mobs of 5+ monsters and they're killing them all at the same time.
-Every x9 level (eg. 19, 29, 39, 49..), there's what they call a FB. FBs attending a lower level one gain EXP and reputation. The bosses in these dungeons also drop moulders which, when crafted, are often equips that give better than normal stats. FB stands for a term in pinyin chinese that I don't actually remember. lol....
-Cultivation, is required to unlock higher level skills. This is more based on the ancient chinese lore of the fairies. Each cultivation is different: it can ask you to kill stuff, deliver junk or boss.
-Side dungeons are: Holy Hall of Dusk (HH), Frost Walk (FW), Godless Valley, Crimson Valley (CV) and Beehive (BH). Each of these (not sure about godless valley) offer materials to craft better weapons and armory. Obviously, the higher level the equipment, the more thats required of the materials.
-Dailies (is there even such a word?), are basically daily quests that give you exp and SP boosts. The stone quests (for lv 30+) require you to buy stones, synthesize them, and then deliver to a npc within Ancient Dragon City (never anywhere else). The World quests (lv70+) .. are a bit more of a peach. It's pretty much what it says it is: it makes you travel all over the goddamned place and takes roughly an hour to complete if you used the teleportation utilities minimally.
-Trumble is a quest you can obtain for killing monsters you need for a quest or just plain grinding. Requires you to pay a sum to activate the quest to kill certain monsters .. which is why its good to check up on this guy to be sure the monsters u need for a certain quest are also available here as well. It's extra exp -- why not?
-Reputation.. unlike maple, your reputation actually means something. In pw, there is a military rank system which you level up depending on the amount of reputation you have. Each ranking "rewards" you with a piece of decent equipment...provided that you pay for them (>.>). Mostly though, reputation requirement for each rank is too drastic. You could be level 70 before you qualify for the level 60 rank equipment. Reputation is obtained via quests, FBs and circulate quests (which is basically kill x amount of monsters for 1-2 rep and a celestial stone)
-Equipment ranking. Each piece of equipment bought from the npc are average stats. Any found or crafted can give random stats. Each piece of eq are sorted into categories: one star, two star, three star (dropped only from FB bosses), HH (0 guesses where it comes from), and gold armor. Obviously the higher the "rank" of the eq, the better it is and the more extras it can offer. Crafting gives you randomized extra stats with a "Crafted by [yournamehere]".
-Equipment upgrading extra stats aside, there are soulstones available to upgrade your equipment. Each piece of equipment in terms of sockets are random. One socket may fit only one soulstone. And depending on the grade of the equipment, you may only slot soulstones that are either equivalent or are lower grade than the equipment itself. Now, a piece of equipment that has been slotted with a soulstone will glow depending on how many stars that equip has and how many sockets are available (and used). A two star, three socket equip will glow blue, a three star two socket equip will also glow blue (if i remember right). HH weaponry glows green (duno about armor), and moulder-crafted equips glow gold.
-Death and exp loss is tied to how high your cultivation is. The higher it is the lesser exp you lose.
-Exp rates are only nice at lower levels. eg. Level 9x monsters give you ~400exp while you need about 30m total (i pulled the number 30m outta my ass -- as an example).
-Exp boosters -- there are equipments that boost your exp gain by 1-2% (2% being rare but also the most ive seen on an equipment). The other item is a Transcendental scroll (known as a "miji"). Downside is: it only gives you a 50% extra exp and sp boost for one hour per scroll .. yay.
-Game Movement: can be controlled by mouse or keyboard. Mostly, its if you preferred keyboard movement, you're best off using the mouse to control the camera angle. I personally just use mouse and very minimal keyboard.
-Cash items can be traded for in-game gold. Cubigold (the currency for buying cash items) can also be traded for in-game gold.
Hmm .. I cant think of much else to add. Um .. the graphics are gorgeous and the community [for the most part] doesn't suck (there's bound to be idiots in every game)? lol
