So actually, in my experience (unless it was just a bug on release), those elements didn't actually matter. They had a graphical effect to them, and En did burn DOT and Rei gave Freeze, but the attacks themselves didn't get elemental attributes. If I remember correctly the extractions said they should, but I believe that they were linked to the buff, and not the actual resulting Shisen Gyouha change.
As for Retsu, it has no element. It just does ridiculous damage boost on the 3rd hit compared to the other two, at least 50% (exact number eludes me atm).

Having second thoughts about kanna then since 'hurricane' was one of the most wanted attacking skills I had for a mage class. :/
I hope GMS adjusts Haja Rengekifu before release or future hypers can make it much stronger than Shisen Gyouha.
I'm not even sure why you want it. Hurricane skills are the most boring abilities. Besides, the main attack is practically a hurricane skill on it's own anyway.
Plus, you have Luminous for that.
