This chapter tried to be so poetic out of a dumb premise. I saw no pomegranate... at all. Unohana releases her bankai for the first time and nothing happens. The melting had most likely to do with Unohna diying as she fought, hence Kenpachi perfectly well at the end. This is what I call true waste of a chapter and true waste of a character.
