Depends on how, I can think of multiple situations, ones where I would fear dying, and ones where I would not.
If I were to get into a car crash, or about to, yes, the first thing that comes to my mind would be 'I don't want to die!'.
If I was an old person, around my 60's, 70's, 80's, or more, dying is something I have to accept, I wouldn't fear it, to be honest. Dying of old-age is natural, and I would realized by then that I have lived very wonderful years, with my family, etc. I'll accept it and move on.
3rd situation, this is where it gets tricky, and others might think differently than I do. If my girlfriend happened to be walking with me in the streets, and she had a her purse on her. Some robber/thief/criminal jumps out, lashes out at her, and grabs her purse, then aims a handgun at her. I have two options, try to:
a) Break the guy's arm
b) If I was too far-distanced from him, I'll gladly USE myself as a shield to protect my girlfriend. With no regrets.
In this scenario, I would not fear death at all, because even if I died, I died for a greater purpose, and that's to protect someone that I love. Hope that answers your questions.
