The only thing the playerbase can do is vote with their wallets.
After GMS suffered a large loss of players and money, much of Nexon America's staff, as well as its corporate attitude, was replaced, by Korea's orders (I think?).
I don't know whether Nexon has that kind of power over AsiaSoft, but they can rescind their Maple license if they don't pay nice profits to NexonKR.

I'm pretty sure that's not possible as Asiasoft makes way more than some servers (I think) due to guys like above spending 1-2k SGD/MYR( Singapore dollars/ Malaysia Ringgit) PER MONTH. They are like, MapleSEA's Limgoon(s). Each of them are inclined to overspend while players at GMS need only pay half the price to have the same damage or even outdamage them.
