Captain Wax Wrote:Pretty sure those were glitches (green mihile and tempest blades)

They fixed the kaiser flying up rope thing DC. That was most certainly not a glitch. FM rooms were cleared out because of that.

[quote=Captain Wax]They are letting more serious issues slide, which was exactly his point.

How can you be so sure they're "letting it slide"? More likely than not they're working trying to figure out a fix to the hack. Believe it our not people shouting at programmers to program faster doesn't actually make they go faster.

Captain Wax Wrote:Would be nice if these issues would be found before the patch came online.

Yes. Yes it would. It would also be nice if car accidents never happened. Unfortunately mistakes happen. Coding is imperfect and there will always be some bug that you missed during any testing. I've always been an advocate of Tespia but Nexon gave a pretty good reason why they shut it down. People just weren't reporting useful things. The reports they got from tespia were mostly junk. The few actual bugs report were lost in the muck.

Captain Wax Wrote:Nexon doesn't even acknowledge the issue of stack hack. How is that excusable?

It's not excusable but it isn't a reason to vilify them. It seems to be their policy to not acknowledge hacking until they've dealt with the matter. This is how they've always done things. I don't agree with it but I don't see a reason to attack them for it.

Captain Wax Wrote:Nexon made an unscheduled maintenence within 2-3 days of this exploit coming out yet Nexon lets hacks go for more than a month, while their GMs can't even tell who is actually hacking (I saw a SS on basil where a lone Kaiser was talking to a GM and the GM left shortly after without doing anything, the recent permaban list). Do you really not see anything wrong with that?

Of course there's something wrong with that. Nexon has long had an issue with their employees knowledge of the game. I can't defend them on this one. It's a problem that I hope they fix. But you can't honestly relate them fixing the feather exploit with GMs not being knowledgeable about the game. The two aren't even related.

Captain Wax Wrote:Empress is indeed profitable but for most players it isn't worth waiting hours of their own time trying to get in with hackers killing full empress + deflation of drops

I agree that the hacking of empress and CPB needs to stop. But once again raging at Nexon every time they do something not related to stack hacking isn't a solution. As I understand it Nexon Korea does the programming for MS. NexonAM needs to to wait for them to send patches and fixes. Do you think the Korean programmers are spending their time reading forums going "oh that's a lot of anger, we should work on this more"? NexonAM has done everything it can short of saying "we know there's a hack and we can't fix it yet". Do you think people will be less angry when they see that?

LoveVictim Wrote:snip

Thank you. Nexon is doing what it can to ban hackers. What would the community rather have? Banning hackers with collateral damage or not banning at all? Yes I'd love it if there was no collateral damage but we don't have that option right now. Either way Nexon loses. With the collateral damage people rage on forums about being wrongfully banned. Rightfully so, they've been wrongfully banned. If Nexon chooses to not bad people rage on the forums about all the hackers. Rightfully so, there are hackers.

To us it seems obvious what's hacking and what's not. We're in game a lot more than GMs are. We read forums, we play all the classes, we know what's just lag and what's not. But GMs don't. They're job isn't to play MS. They're not being paid to play a video game and lets be honest. If you were a GM and spent your whole day working on MS. Would you wanna go home and play MS? The only possible solution is to put GM powers in the hands of select players. But that runs into a whole swarm of problems associated with it. Do you pay them? If not how do you control their behavior? Do you ban them if they abuse their powers? What if they decide to quit and mass ban everyone at 3am on Christmas eve when no one's at NexonAM headquarters? There's no easy fix for this. All we can do is hope they might one day find a fix for stack hacks.
