The town oversleeps. When they wake up it is nearly noon.

Hank Little, the sheriff. Well known for a questionable shootout that resulted in the death of the suspects, a young man and his pregnant wife. There are those who claim that the two were unarmed and that he fired on them without cause.

Father Bill is missing. The townspeople head to the local church, where they find the priest lying in a pool of his own blood, his heart pierced straight through by a wooden stake protruding from his body.

Father Bill, the pastor at the local church. Came to religion after a hard life as a criminal and then convinct and has been preaching the good word ever since.

The body lies near the stairs, so a quick deduction shows that the murderer must have pushed him off to his death. An examination of the building proves it to be in stable condition, and the contents of his personal files suggest that Bill was, indeed, a simple powerless priest and nothing more.

The rest of the townspeople convene to decide what to do today.

Investigations Pending
Investigate the garage. The note that Old Tom left suggests that there might be some cheese in the garage. But why would that tie in to the two REJ deaths?

Investigate the Poole estate. You all lynched Mr. Poole in the first place, but is there something left to be found here?

Investigate the Jenkins murder. According to Old Tom, the knife belongs to someone who you wouldn't suspect... but who?
