Read the thread, yes you lose points when you buy totems.
The best three totems are as follows:
Golden __ Totem: +12 stat, 3 attack/matk
Mighty (clever, etc)__ Totem: +20 stat, 6 attack
Boss Kumi Totem: +14 stat, 4 attack
Costs 1bil and 10,000 friendship points.
