I'd pay a good amount of money for a permanent normal cube that had the caveat of downgrading your item rank at a maybe 25% rate, but could be used an infinite amount of times. Maybe add in a "if you use this item over 100 times you can have a 70% potential scroll for lulz" thing. I don't have the monetary funds to cash out on one item to get it to legendary, but I'd cash out for a single cube that I could use between characters on the same account. Then have additional potential ones and additional stat ones. It wouldn't be cheap obviously, but it'd stop me from having to feel poor and extremely out classed when some nub comes in with perfect equipment from thousands of dollar investments to say "lolunubdamage get out or i ks"
Alternatively, make more of those stupid derp cubes available at all the bosses in the game, make them tradeable. There no problem. OR they can just make cubes tradeable (hell anything tradeable fromt he CS) via the Cash trade room and then you'll have a bunch of people selling cubes (and all sorts of scissors and tags and crap) for mesos. They'd get rid of some sort of inflation AND provide a means for the every day player to get cubes at a decent non-NX price.
Cheaper everything would be nice too. Something like cubes shouldn't be more than a couple of cents worth. You know that they're going to be used hundreds of times because of the gambling aspect, you'd get more people addicted if they were "cheap" all the time. I don't want to pay 3 dollars for a CHANCE to get a 3rd line on an equipment, especially when that chance is less than 50%. I would pay maybe a dollar to get a 50% chance to get a 3rd line. Oh you wanted legendary rank? buy these 2 dollar cubes since they're the only things that can help you with that! pineapple that. I suppose that KMS has started to do this sort of thing with their hot times since they give those 100% potential line items and like 3 cubes per account sometimes. IMO GMS should do the same. you give people a little taste of what they can get and then they become users. Like drugs.
Also wouldn't mind having an NX bypass system for a lot of other things. Like being able to fuse nebulites of B rank or higher without the stupid gachapon ticket. To be able to cube your nebulite whenever you wanted, but it wouldn't ever upgrade. That sort of thing. I also wouldn't mind being able to buy random special equipment from the CS at like 100-500 nx a pop. Who wouldn't want to be able to buy a pair of goggles from the CS for 50 cents? Always wanted that VIP one handed mace but they're all gone and the event never came back? Buy one for 700 nx in the cash shop. Obviously all average items, but put in a newer version that cost 800 nx each and has a 50% chance to come out with potential/additional potential and a 25% chance to be epic rank or higher!
Blocking off content to all your players without the use of real life money seems like a stupid marketing plan. I mean, wouldn't you want to bait as many users as possible with "cheap" and more accessible means? What does it cost you? A few dollars a day with making sure the items don't glitch out? I mean look at the 90% off sale. Those cube packages sold like hotcakes. I know people who bought at least 100 cubes and had to charge a certain amount to separate accounts in order to take advantage of the sale, meaning they went out and bought a $10 card for a sale that would give them a good price of essentially 1 dollar of that 10. So doing that over 10 times? Nexon already made $100 for an item that had near-zero cost. Granted this was probably fueled by the "OMG IT'S SO CHEAP COMPARED TO THE $20 I NORMAL SPEND FOR THIS CRAP PACK OF 11 THINGS" They likely still got the same amount of money, if not more, from this one accidental sale than they did from that individual at any time during the past few years.
