Pre-ordered the game long ago. Have been a big fan of the series since the first installment, where the series was strongest. I was so thrilled to have a full-blown survival horror series that had not been fucked up tremendously yet, and it was so good. DS2 was even better, and was just as great, which is why I bought the Collector's Edition when it came out and I have platinum'd them both. I plan to do the same with DS3, although I would be lying if I said I was not worried about the direction EA is taking the series in... the first two were fantastic games, and with the series gathering a huge following because of that, they're trying to make it their next golden child. I'm okay with some action in the series, in fact, I welcome it, but they better not be removing the scary, horror part of the series to make room for it.
And the fact that they're throwing out all these micro-transactions and day-1 DLC (11 DLC packs on release day, are you fucking kidding me?) does not make me feel better about the whole situation. But that's a whole different discussion... either way, can't wait until Monday, cause my friend and I will be heading up to Gamestop for the midnight release and will be starting our coop playthrough when we get home.
