What it does seem to do better is stay with you when you go up or down between very closely-spaced platforms. I'm sure all pet owners are familiar with the frustration of jumping down a platform and killing there, and the pet staying on the higher platform and therefore failing to loot your recent drops. This item seems to make that better.
The self-feeding, if it works, is far more significant. And shows, again, how much Nexon loves leechers. With this smart pouch, you could afk at "unsafe" SH maps with your pet out, and survive all night (or as long as you have potions and pet food in your inventory).
I think they ment those small plat, where you can jump to without climbing a ladder/rope etc.
I like the smart pouch b/c i have auto buff gem, and its annoying to reset it when pet go back to your inv.
