Being unable to login should not effect your ability to win a code. I'm not aware of any urgent time limit on redeeming the codes, though that's a good question for [MENTION=10355]Girasol[/MENTION];.
I would not recommend having a friend log on for you, since that's both against the TOS and a terrible security risk in general.
